About the Speaker
Mr. Murtaza Lightwala is an accomplished professional with 24 years of strong track record in building and leading high-performance teams within the Energy (Oil & Gas Upstream and Downstream) and Gas/Electricity Utility sectors. Murtazahas been prolific in managing diverse and inclusive geographically-dispersed multi-lingual and multi-ethnic technology teams to deliver regional and local IT transformation corporate goals within Pakistan and Middle East and North Africa region. Before joining K-Electric in 2022, he has held Head of IT Risk and Business Services position at Sui Southern Gas Company Ltd. for 6+ years. He has also delivered regional and global roles for MENA region in IT Risk Management and IT Operations Performance in one of the Oil & Gas Global Giants, BP based in Dubai for 5 years. Prior to that he has served BP Pakistan Exploration and Production, Inc. for more than a decade as Head of IT Onshore Operations. He is frequently invited to deliver various IT GRC and CyberSecurity training sessions for diverse audiences. Murtazaholds a BE degree in Computer Systems Engineering from NED University, Karachi and an MBA from Indus University, Karachi. Murtazaalso holds various globally accredited certifications like CISA, CISM, CRISC, CGEIT from ISACA and various ITIL certifications from Axelos. Additionally, he is the first Pakistani to achieve Certified in Emerging Technology certification from ISACA in 2021.
