Distribution of Mosquito nets in rain affected areas

ISACA CommunITy Day

Pakistan has witness heavy spell of rainfall during recent monsoon season. Province of Sindh was severely hit where rain records of last 34 years were broken. These devastating rains has left thousands of people homeless, forced them to live under open sky, and waiting for aid. Some areas of depression still have stagnant water of 6-7 feet.

Harsh living conditions have worsen due to abundance of mosquitos that are thriving due to stagnant water. Among worse affected areas are Umerkot, Mithi and Diplo.

Where people are living in temporary tents and are exposed to the risk of mosquito-borne viral infections such Dengue and Malaria etc.

As part of activities of ISACA CommunITyDay on October 03, 2020, ISACA Karachi Chapter has arranged the provision of 175 Mosquito Nets to these people as it can be a lifesaver at this moment. Due to Covid19 and remote location, Karachi Chapter has distributed these Mosquito Nets with the help of local volunteers to ensure these nets are delivered to the affected people.
